Okay so I know this is completely ridiculous. But I have this file sitting on my Desktop bugging me. You see, a few months ago I bought an electronic drum kit. It’s a very nice Roland kit, that I play about an hour a day, and somehow manage to bother the neighbors below me (now I can’t play past 8 PM, because I came home at 4 AM once and started playing drums to Kanye West’s “Graduation”).

What I do now is put on an album and play to it. So, being the Better Than Ezra fanatic that I am, I put on BTE’s “Closer” and played for almost the entire album. And I happened to record it, just to measure my accuracy. So for the past 3 weeks, the file has just been sitting here, so I figured I’d just post it so that people understand my full obsession with the rhythm in this album. Tess Dixon will appreciate this, I’m sure! So here it is:

haha! this is awesome Matt! I’m listening to it at work..shh….
Yes! You knew I’d love it. I listened to Deluxe, Closer, and HDYGG? in my kitchen on Friday night while performing a cooking marathon, and got totally bleary-eyed at parts because I associate those songs with different thoughts / points in my life so much. We are nerds, but at least we are aware of it.
P.S. I love that in a couple of places you put drums where there aren’t supposed to be drums. Yeah!
So random I stumbled across this Matt! I was a Music Industry minor at JMU and we brought BTE to Harrisonburg while they were touring for this record. I cannot describe the memories this record brings back. Classic.
Signed Sincerely me.
