It annoys me when music business mavericks talk about “genuine” music. I read the Rolling Stone blog on a daily basis. I came across this little blurb today about Jessica Simpson crossing over from pop to country. Her father/manager says “I think country is the only pure genre left”.

A couple of things:

1. I would disagree with that. Have you heard how pop country is now? Can you listen to one song and not hear vocal correction?
2. It’s not like Jessica Simpson is going to help that theory.
